Health insurance in the US

Whenever I think about becoming a full time indie hacker I always become concerned about the health insurance: I live in the United States and I know that it is crucial to have a good health insurance, because medical expenses are crazy. Currently I have a nice job and I have an awesome insurance through the company: no premium, no deductible, 100% coverage (no co-incurance), minimal co-pay (30$/ visit) and it covers my family too.

However whenever I checked around I always found crazy premiums (1-2 grands/ month) + coinsurance (60-70% coverage) etc.

How do you guys get insured in the US? Is there a way to join some group insurance or something to get better terms? Or do you guys use Medicare?

-Employer-sponsored health insurance: This is the most common type of health insurance in the United States, and it is typically provided by employers. Employees typically have access to health insurance through their employer, and the cost of the health insurance is typically covered by the employer. Employer-sponsored health insurance can have a number of benefits, including coverage for medical expenses, prescription drugs, and hospital care.

My wife and I use Medishare. It's a Christian health care plan. Really good rates, though we do have higher deductible plans. I've always been in favor of saving for emergencies myself than giving it to a company to "maybe" use someday. That's why we go with more catastrophic plans.

That is great! I can see there are some requirements, but fortunately we're eligible. I've also found a similar - Catholic - group: https://cmfcuro.com/ Thanks!

    Dear John

In the U.S., individuals often obtain health insurance through employers or purchase plans on the private market. Some may qualify for group insurance through professional associations, and those aged 65 and older may utilize Medicare for coverage.

Depending on how much TAXABLE income you make, you might qualify for insurance through the ACA (Obamacare) marketplace in your state. The less taxable income you make, the bigger your cost savings. Going through Obamacare marketplace can be about 50% cheaper but you certainly won't get the kind of coverage that you described, even on what is called a 'platinum level plan'. However, it is cheaper than buying insurance on the individual marketplace which is what I'm doing and yes, it is very expensive. –(~1k in California for an individual)

I wonder if there is a way to incorporate and through tax write-offs control your taxable income such that you have enough to live on and still qualify for Obamacare savings, but that's something that probably an insurance expert would be able to answer.

Health insurance is very important for our family. if we died unfortunately our family never worried for money, they can use it in their health, education, marriage related activities. but one word i want to say before we died we should try to give happiness and the things they want or needs or their fulfillments.

health insurance is a big concern for indie hackers. In the U.S., exploring group plans through professional associations might be a good fit. Check out forums related to high resolution CT scan near me me or consider health-sharing ministries. While Medicare is typically for those 65 and older, group options could offer more affordable coverage. Remember to factor in your specific needs and consider consulting an insurance broker for personalized advice.

Medicare gives you a lot of options for health insurance. The key to choosing the best one is determining which kind of coverage you need and how much you want to spend. If you want to go with a private Medicare plan, the first thing you'll need to decide is whether you want a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medigap plan. I've read on remedigap.com that Medicare Advantage plans offer all the same benefits as Original Medicare. Still, they also include coverage for things like prescription drugs and routine dental and vision exams.

Hey! Yes I use Medicare and it is a great help for me. It is important to ask your respective insurance company if they cover the expenses of surgery of laminotomy. Since these surgeries are not widely known hence not all insurance companies cover these expenses. You can read further about this surgery on this page https://thehealthytalks.com/laminotomy-vs-laminectomy/

Today, living in the United States, you have to have good insurance. If you suddenly find yourself in the hospital without insurance, you will be shocked at how much money you have to pay. The coronavirus has dramatically increased people's demand for insurance because it's so easy to get sick, and treatment is expensive. My wife and I recently purchased new health insurance thanks to this website lifeinsuranceblog.net. We chose insurance that was right for us, moreover at a reasonable price.
