I'm a mix between an artistic and analytical mind.
After graduating in videogames design from university in Barcelona, I discovered my passion making wireframes in Figma.
I really hate biased decisions, that’s why I enjoy so much doing massive test A/B and learning what works and what doesn’t.
Making that button pop, shiny and bigger is not always the solution, maybe you have to completely remove it to achieve better retention.
As I know some code, I put a special effort designing user flows easy to implement, so developers and designers live in harmony.
You can design two types of UI, one with fancy stuff hard to develop and another one more minimalistic and clear, easy to develop and scalable. I’m on the second type team.
Yes, it’s true that a team at Google couldn’t decide between two blues, so they’re testing 41 shades between each blue to see which one performs better. I had a recent debate over whether a border should be 3, 4 or 5 pixels wide, and was asked to prove my case. I can’t operate in an environment like that. I’ve grown tired of debating such minuscule design decisions. There are more exciting design problems in this world to tackle.
A bit of background info on me, I am one of the moderators for the Open Source group on IH. We’ve grown to 36 members and hope to keep getting noticed by this wonderful community :)
I am a front end developer and web designer. I am currently working on a side project where I sell premium HTML templates on BuildFaster.co
Hello, I'm Pablo, I moderate a bunch of subreddits with a total of 50k subscribers or so. I have co-founded several startups in the past as CTO or solo-founder, one which had an OK exit (2.5X or so). I code in a bunch of different platform, languages, environments. I've been listening to the IH Podcast for years and I participate on the actual side on and off depending on how much spare time. I'm based in London, UK.
