In the last 24hrs I encountered 3 different professional websites with their support email listed as hello@sitename.com! Is this some new trend (to use hello) I am unaware of or a total coincidence?

I've noticed this on and off for the past 10 years, definitely not new. I imagine it makes a company feel more human to their customers, rather than a contact@ or support@ email.
I personally used it in all of my side projects in the last 3+ years
It has increased recently, but people have been doing it for a while now. I find it more personal then support@ or help@.
