Help critique my Frontend Serverless Course Landing Page
Hi everyone,
I just recorded my last video lecture for a frontend serverless with react and graphQL course that I’m working on. Would you mind checking it out and giving your feedback before I launch?
I’ve created a long form video series where we build a recipe sharing application. My target audience is react developers who have a few courses under their belt but they haven’t built a full production grade app before and they want to learn how to build something that is reliable, scalable and easy to update in the future.

There is a lot of text at the beginning of the page, I would suggest you add an image or two to complement the text as you have done in the remainder part of the page.

Congratulations on your progress Stephen!
I would recommend that you set a maximum width for your primary content container. Right now, the lines of text can run a little long which makes reading more difficult.
I think you would benefit greatly from a short 30-second intro to the course and its benefits that goes right up at the top of the page. People have a short attention span and a nice video can be more effective than even the best headline, in my opinion.
Lastly, I would recommend some hierarchy in your "In this course" list. I'm sure some of the items on that list are more interesting and impactful than others. Perhaps try bolding or changing the color of a few of those more juicy elements.

I'd agree with figuring out a better way of distinguishing certain bits and pieces of the "in this course" section. I actually took the 37 steps and cut it down to the smaller list that you see there, but it still looks too much like this huge text wall.
I can definitely add a video- what did you think about the video that I have next to the "in this course section"? Can I just move that up or were you saying that the format of the video is off?
The video at the bottom of the page is in the perfect place. It is a more thorough walkthrough of the course deliverable. That's the kind of info people want once they are interested in actually doing the course.
I'm recommending a video at the top that is more like, "Are your React apps bloated and complicated? Are you uninspired by all the boilerplate code you recycle during every project? Learn a better way. This course will teach you a cutting-edge technology stack that will help you master battle-tested libraries and jargony jargon. You'll be learning the ropes by building a fun and exciting recipe-building app. Check out the course intro video below to learn more."
It should only be about 30 seconds.

How are you planning to market this?
I have a free blog over at https://www.codemochi.com/ that is focused around full-stack development and all of those tutorials have accompanying youtube videos. My plan is to publish a mixture of free and paid content in a similar fashion to Wes Bos or Leveluptuts. The level is aimed at intermediate coders who are looking to build robust fully-featured websites that can evolve with their business needs.
Looks like an interesting course. (I like your hook about reducing boilerplate networking code.) As others have mentioned, it's a lot of text at the top and visually isn't that interesting. You have some nice screenshots of that app that is being built - maybe include a teaser higher up? (e.g. "What you will build!" in a funky font over a circular screenshot?)
Typo: "single purpose" -> "single-purpose"
Also make sure to test with different browser sizes, my browser happens to be 1050px wide and your tagline "The lost React fullstack deployment video series." is squished and overlaps with itself.
Oooh I like the idea of having a teaser higher up a lot. Thanks so much for the great suggestions!
