Help for non-technical/junior saas: Feedback appreciated

Hello everyone!

My name is Luca and I've been working on a side project for a few weeks that I’d like to launch aimed at helping non-technical Founders and junior developers with little DevOps experience.

Landing page: https://dawnvox.com (sign up to waitlist if you wish)
But would love to get some feedback before I go too deep down the rabbit hole.

The Problem:
In my experience, and perhaps yours, navigating the complexities of deploying, managing, and scaling applications on AWS is complicated even for those with experience.

Many inexperienced devs and non technical founders might start with AWS because they know it’s good but often make a mess when it comes to security, scalability and cost.

This is a problem for Bootstrapped businesses so often times things just get left until there is a problem. Of course there are many products that automate things deployments, application monitoring etc.

But the challenge I find with these tools is as follows:
They often require technical expertise to set up

Are expensive products in their own right

Don’t tend to offer a comprehensive suite of functionality, the kind that small startups need. Im thinking everything bundled together. Monitoring, analytics, bug tracking, deployments, backups etc..

Few tools allow you to deploy directly into your own AWS
Businesses start using AWS + paying for these tools but then don’t know who to ask for help as the business grows.

My Idea:
What I’m working on is a tool that straight up builds and deploys web applications straight into your AWS account with all the best practice features out of the box.

Then everything is taken care of:
CI/CD
Backups
Auto scaling
Live dashboard with valuable metrics
Ability to block IPs
Error monitoring/ Traffic monitoring
Ssh access if they need
Proactive suggestions for following best practices based on your current account set up
Database set up with secure access from your local environment

I have more features in mind for later. Please be brutally with your thoughts!
Does anyone have this problem?
Would you pay for it to be solved, and how much?
Really appreciate the feedback! Signup for updates if you wish

What I’m working on is a tool that straight up builds and deploys web applications straight into your AWS account with all the best practice features out of the box.

I think this solves a valuable problem people would pay for, but I wonder if your target customers might prefer the underlying AWS account to be something managed by your product. Or, you might want to address the creation of an AWS account itself (even if only through something partially automated) so you can help with the entire setup process. Right now, you are basically requiring customers to do some setup, go to you to complete setup, then handing off a project - I think it's conceptually easier for users and introduces less friction if you either are involved from beginning to the handoff point, or from the beginning of your setup until the account goes away.

I think probably non-developers would greatly prefer the managed/tenancy account functionality so that they don't feel overwhelmed by being responsible for a bunch of expensive stuff they don't understand once your product finishes. And developers would probably mostly be using your product to save time setting up.

Also, managing the account is something you could monetize that would give you recurring revenue.

Thanks this really helpful feedback I appreciate it a lot! I hadn't factored in the creation of the account and management so I'll keep this in mind! Thank you!

    Hi,

I saw that you are planning on launching DawnVox within April 2024.

I also understand that you are looking to simplify AWS deployment for Junior Developers and non-technical Founders but you are unsure about a pricing strategy.

I can compose a free Growth Strategy for you so you can better tailor DawnVox to Junior Developers and non-technical Founders better.

Let me know if you are interested.

        Cool.

Here is an example of a Growth Strategy here

We can get started with a free Growth Strategy through here

I will also keep you throughout the process of setting you up to launch properly in April 2024.
