Help: How to market desktop app?
Hi everyone,
today i finished website for my desktop software. Last thing i tested, 3 hours ago, was PayPal payments. Next step is marketing.
What i don't know is how to market desktop app?
I don't think that video ads would be the best format as it would be too small to see what's happening. Images would be even worse.
Only idea i currently have is to put ads on google and target highly specific keywords.
Inspiration came from multiaccount sports betting. There was no tool to do that so i made one. This was just an idea in February this year (still in beta, working MVP++).

To market something, start with defining who are your (potential) users. Then go hang with them, where do they hang out online?
Then go spend a bit of time with them, take note of their discussions, their culture, their challenges, excitements, etc. Respond to and start some discussions, ask questions, build up some credibility.
Take notes along the way and look for patterns or little sparks that you can use for marketing - whether it be emails, social media, content, ads.
