Heatmap Screenshot attached. Can you see how the most clicked thing is the brand (top-left) "PhpNinja" ? What do you think users expect to happen when clicking there?
Help please! www.phpninja.info
To go back to the homepage. It's expected to be a link to "/".
Yup, this is most likely the correct answer. The user sees a slug in the URL, instead of just the root domain, and tries to get back home. I'd change that to ensure the homepage renders with just the root domain.
As a rule, this is the problem with heatmaps in general. They tell you WHAT people are doing, but don't give you any indication as to why (which is the most important thing to know). Put this in front of a few users in person, and ask them about their behavior as they do it. That outta get you your answer (tho, I suspect the slug is the problem, ultimately).
(But I know it's redundant with "Home")
Thanks! I think it is confusing because the friendly slug I used for google, it seems you are not in the homepage, but you are.
I imagine the slug is part of it, but personally, I think having the "Home" tab highlighted also makes it seem like we're on some other page and not the home page.
I'd try removing the home tab and just linking the logo to / and seeing what happens.
It might also be worth making the home page look more like a landing page than a list of services. Something along the lines of https://wpcurve.com/
My guess is that your landing page doesn't answer your users' questions. They want to know more before buying. People don't expect the pricing just after the hero title and subtitle. My suggestion is to read this guide https://www.julian.com/guide/growth/landing-pages. Users are used to a certain design, you should leverage this habit instead of proposing something different.
Thanks! you start changing things up randomly and this is what happens. Thanks for that.
Click on 'About': people want to know what your site is all about.
Click on 'Logo': people want to go back home or see if there's a menu there to find more information.
Yes, probably they were clicking there because the home slug was more like /website-repair so I guess everyone was trying to go "home"
