Help me improve deepwork.today – manage time between productivity and meetings

Hello friends

I teamed up with a friend to build deepwork.today. It was hunted on ProductHunt on August. We got over 300 signups.

The purpose of this post is to get feedback from the IndieHacker community to increase retention and decide new features.

First, I would like to introduce the product in its current form.

Later, I will ask specific questions and seek help

  • to understand how the community establishes a balance between collaboration and productivity
  • what new features can be introduced

Note: The app only works with Google Calendar, for now.

So, how can deepwork.today help you?

⏰ Deepwork Clock that is aware of your daily schedule. We have experienced that focus cannot be turned on and off like a switch, so we set aside some cool-off time for every meeting. The clock constantly keeps you updated on the actual focussed time you have left to get work done.

🏀 Meeting quiz to help you gauge the importance and relevance of a meeting. And if you find a valid reason to decline, we provide you with a polite template response .

🍒 Bite-size lessons to help you get better at meetings. Ahead of a critical meeting, you can meditate on these and be your best.

🧠 Meeting patterns to give you an overview of your meeting habits over time. These figures will help you learn how much time you spend in meetings, average durations of your meetings, busiest day of the week and who do you most often collaborate with.

📬 Get emails every morning. We brief you on the upcoming meetings for the day and how much effective time you will have to get work done.

Now let’s discuss potential improvements. Even more important, is this even relevant for you?

  • Do you think it is possible to alleviate the stress between collaboration and productivity? If yes, what you consider to be missing in your daily work?

  • If we allow users to rate each meeting and then create a monthly summary, will that be helpful?

  • If we create a chrome extension or a small widget on calendar.google.com to show “time left to get work done” today? Will that be more helpful? Essentially, you do not have to open the app.

  • How often do you decline meetings? Do you think you will ever decline meetings from the app using template response?

  • Right now I am sending a daily email listing the upcoming meetings for the day and effective time to get work done? Will a weekly email summary be helpful?

Beyond these explicit questions, please feel free to share your experiences and requirements.

You can also ask me questions regarding the development of the app and usage analytics.
