Hi, my name is Anatoli 👋
I'm the author of https://www.sqlhabit.com/, a business simulator that teaches how to use data to run Marketing or Product. I've finished the content recently and got my first 100 paying customers! 🚀
The course teaches how web and mobile analytics work. With real examples students will learn how to calculate metrics like AARRR, Unit Economics, Funnel Analysis, etc.
So far the reviews I get are usually "the best course in the world" from people I've never met.
Please, help me with ideas how can I market the course! 🙏 @csallen
@makaroni4 Your course looks fabulous
For individuals - Facebook PPC - Email Marketing Campaigns
For corporations/Schools: Cold Calling - Sales Reps - Email Marketing
Growth Hacking: Slack/Facebook groups for people learning SQL - I think this qualifies for Product Hunt as well - Also some SEO should help
Awesome summary, thanks a lot @bismich 🙌
I've already launched on PH: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/sql-habit
It was quite a disaster since they don't feature education products on the homepage))
Thanks a lot for your input 🚀
Congratulations on your progress so far.
In my former life as SQL Lead, I've purchased various SQL courses for teams. My suggestion is - if you are going to market this to corporate purchase, you'll need a clear breakdown of the SQL skills. I love that you've got real-world exercises, but your course description is telling me what business concepts will be learned, not which SQL skills. Before I approved a purchase I would need to see a boring old list of "group by, union, outer joins, sub queries" that I can tick off as representing intermediate level SQL.
Also - your team pricing seems really low.
Anyay - ideas on marketing your course. As a manager in medium-to-large orgs, my training needs were usually for an intake of interns/graduate data anlysts during June-Sept. Your course looks fun, so I think I'd have looked into it for that cohort if I saw it. How about an old-fashioned brochure in the (snail) mail? I'd get several a year in 2015/16/17. Addressed to "Data Manager" if I hadn't purchased previously from the company. It would make it to my desk without a name.
Wow, thanks a lot for such amazing input @wavehopper 🙌
Already added a task to design SQL skills breakdown on homepage and pricing pages! 🚀
Re brochures – that is awesome, a brochure does sound old-school but I believe it'll work! Thank you so much for your insights! ❤️
Interesting! It looks like your course and my startup are related.
I've been halfheartedly looking for blog content for content marketing and building engagement/relationships. If I were to pay a small amount for data/analysis posts that could be posted on my blog and yours would that help?
Thanks a lot for the idea! As far as I know, Google has SEO penalty for duplicated content, I guess I'll pass 😊
This is news to me, very good to know and sorry for suggesting somethign that'd penalize you/us.
