Hey Indie Hackers!
Imagine I have a SaaS project, I just want a CRM software, but not like traditional CRM software (like Hubspot, Pipedrive, Salesforce) - where you need to import users from external source manually.
I'm thinking of an idea where I can automatically get users (from database), categorize them, give discounts and/or penalties (based on their activities), and do all this automatically.
Problem
We do not treat SaaS customers fairly. For example, we do not give punishment to those who use the product badly, and we do not reward those who use it well. In my opinion, customers should be categorized and treated accordingly.
Solution
An intelligent CRM that distinguishes customers based on their behavior. It will pull users directly from the database and separate them according to actions.
Opportunity
This project can play an important role in increasing sales and saving time.
What do you think about it? Should I build it?
Thanks!
Great idea! Start building but try to get an MVP and a PMF before you commit fully
Thanks for the answer! Would you like to be an early user? It's ok if you don't want
Your idea of an intelligent CRM that automatically categorizes users based on behavior is intriguing. A few suggestions:
Stripe, Hubspot or any other existing players do something like this through customizable workflows, changing variables or tags per case or situation which results in rewarding frequent customers or big clients.
It's an innovative approach as long as it's the right execution, good luck! 🚀
Thanks! I noted this comment :)
Can you elaborate more on how can this increase sales?
The overall concept is a little bit confusing but this can be converted to something like - a SaaS that can trigger events, based on actions that can categorise the users into segments and founders can send emails to users based segmentation. More like LogSnag but with email capabilities.
My plan was to automatically add users to the CRM and strengthen relations - increasing sales accordingly.
But yeah, I'm planning something like you said, maybe I should remove the CRM part and just focus on your concept.
Thanks for your comment
I think it's a great idea, It can work well but you should also look for competitors and search for the need of this product by posting relatable posts in communities like Reddit.
Thanks for your answer, yes, I definitely will.
Your concept of an intelligent CRM that automatically categorises and treats clients depending on their behaviour appears to be promising. It solves a real problem in SaaS by optimising customer management. However, before you dive in, you need undertake market research to determine the demand and competition in this industry. If a gap exists and potential users are looking for a solution, it could be a worthwhile endeavour. Just make sure to properly validate the concept and its feasibility before moving forward with development.
Thank you so much for that answer :)
yes! many businesses need it mate
Would you like to be an early user? It's ok if you don't want
Thanks for the validation!
Rewarding customer is a good idea. Many On Boarding Softwares has this feature. They help to increase the free trial or unlock a feature based on the usage.
Now punishing the user not good . There should be a way to encourage them to use the software. That's a idea solution.
I would suggest you to go thru all the SaaS On Boarding Softwares in the market. They have almost covered your idea. If you still see a gap in the market then find out a way to reach 20 customers who may use your software once it's built.
Speak to those 20 customers and ask them present and past based questions. Don't ask them will you use my CRM. Ask them what problem are they facing at present or have face in past. How did they attempt to solve it.
Now after collecting the answers decide weather you should build the software.
Thanks for the answer! I will definitely do this.
