Help Me Validate My Idea 🫶

Fellow Indiehackers,

Last week I was researching and analyzing multiple brand names and ideas for a new startup and I found myself struggling to find a brandable name that had a .com domain.

Upon searching I stumbled on a tedious but effective way to find brandable .com domains.

I purchased 20+ brandable domains and added them to an airtable.

https://airtable.com/shr89BuBVAeE8Dftp/tbl3kgv7Z15NwCHjh?fbclid=IwAR3YLGmGfZH6dE6Y5j76mqr_fwTudL1ZGS8919VkMPzxd1yibHSJNMfrdLY

My questions are as follows:

  1. As an entrepreneur would any of these domains intrigue you?
  2. Are there any additional points of data that I may be missing?
  3. Is $100 too high or too low for each domain?
  4. Is this idea even worth pursuing?

I am thinking the ideal customer would be someone actively looking to start a new business and searching for a brandable domain/name.

I genuinely look forward to your feedback.

    Hey Samy,

The easiest and most surefire way to validate any business idea is to look around and see if you can find others making money from it.

    If yes, it's validated.

Just need to market it correctly (and for long enough).

Interesting rule of thumb, and probably the safest for indiehackers as they can't afford to go for disruptive ideas.

        Absolutely.

        Its the T in BLUNT.

And it's not even just for indiehackers.

Take Apple for example. Innovative products. Yes. But every single one of them were in markets with existing demand that already had people paying money for those product types.

          Makes sense. Thanks!
