I’m building Klarity, which helps you summarize your voice note into text and save it to Notion straightaway.
How it works:
- Record a voice note via our mobile app or website whenever and wherever an idea emerges.
- AI will transcribe and condense your insights.
- Instantly save the summarized text to your Notion database

I would definitely use this for some classes at university/school
I didn't think of this use case. Hit record for each lecture get a summary at the end and share it with colleagues.
There's a similar project, audiopen.ai, which you can get inspiration/user feedback from to avoid the same mistake, though I'm pretty sure you're already familiar with that tool.

I wouldn't personally use it. I don't use Notion, so I'm not your target audience, but I also know how to use ChatGPT to summarize things. Good luck with your new product!

I notice you have developed as PWA.
That's what I choose as well for my current project... and we both have the same problem: the icon of the app on macos dock looks very ugly. I'll let know if I ever understand how to fix it.

I didn’t sign for the email cause the homepage looks the product is at early stage of development… but I could give it a try in the future, even if I don’t use notion.
I’ve looked for years at an app for taking my notes… I never found one of which I can say it’s really great (I understand this is subjective). At the moment I use obsidian.
For the future you can also consider integrate with other services: gmail, calendar, etc there endless possibilities.

Honest feedback: it sounds useful and like something that I would use. It would definitely be useful for lectures and note taking. But I don't think it's something I would pay money for. I hope you can make it work and find a way to create a strong revenue stream!

Converting voice notes to text for Notion could streamline work well. But, I'm not sure if I want to pay for this.
So, maybe it's a good idea to validate willingness-to-pay right off the bat.

Great idea, I think there's still a lot to be explored in this area. As others have written here, there are some of other products in this space. So maybe you can set it apart from the competition by making it simpler / faster / better / tailoring it to a specific group of people. Just to give some examples. Sounds interesting, can you give an example of how an input idea and a condensed insight would look like? This would help envisage the products usage.
I don't have it at the moment. I'll share whenever I've one.
I think students might like it and use it for their class at university. As for me, I prefer to write down my inspiration directly on my phone.
I used to do that. Whenever I go out with my daughter, I've to carry her and It's hard for me to write with one hand.
Now, I just open Klarity and say it, and it's captured.
Arbaaz, your idea sounds interesting, I can imagine myself using it. However, it's important what pricing model you will have.
Have you heard about OASIS: https://www.theoasis.com/? It has a similar concept to what you described, except for saving summarised notes to Notion.
I was pleased with that tool but didn't like their pricing much, because I quickly reach the credit limit.
I believe that it's important to nail the model that makes it convenient for casual note-taking.

I understand why it's priced in credits. I personally don't like credits. Text AI rewrites have cost. I'll see how I can make it better.

I didn't do market research that much. I'm aware of a few competitors.
I'm solving my own problems right now.
How do you plan to monetize this? Advertising? A monthly fee?
Advertising is only possible with high traffic. I don't think that will happen.
Also, Advertisements ruin the experience.
If your app works well, it will be useful, especially for someone like me who has ideas at any time of the day.
Exactly! I get ideas at unexpected places.
Once you acknowledge your thoughts they don't repeat and leave room for fresh ideas.
I heard there are some competitors with similar ideas and that is a good thing. Keep a keen eye on what they are doing like following up on their tweets, articles, etc...

Mabe there could be to types of inputs: large recordings, and short ones. The large recording is subject to be summarized, the short one no. If there is a way to send the text to your clipboard could be great.

There's a drop-down to copy it to the clipboard and you could also just double-click on the text to select all the text and copy.

If you really want some help to validate your idea, my advice would be to avoid questions like "What do you think?" and "Do you find it useful?". People will tell you stuff like I just told you: "sounds interesting" or "yeah that's a great idea". This doesn't mean much and will give you very weak signals on whether your app is useful. Don't ask people for opinions, ask them about facts and draw your own conclusions from those facts.
