Help! My website's conversion rate is 0.14%
I've a riddle that needs solving.
I have a newsletter. Everytime I send out my newsletter, I put it on the internet the next day and post the link in several Reddit communities.
For the last two newsletters, the links have generated 300+ visitors to the site. They've been pretty well-received by the Reddit community (like 150+ upvotes for latest post about a farm brewery that brews with 100% house-grown ingredients)
The problem is, out of about 700+ unique visitors on my site, I've only converted 1 into a subscriber of the newsletter.
How can my site be improved?
Better call to action?
A pop-up after X seconds? (But I'm kind of against this as a user)
Hide some of the content unless you subscribe?

I could not find a major problem with your presentation... It's good enough. Maybe your target audience wants something different... You need to ask them why they don't sign up.
This would be great, but how could I get this information from them? It doesn't seem right to put something on the site such as - 'Why aren't you signing up? Leave your feedback below.'

Yes, I was thinking of asking your audience in places where they already talk about brewing, such as Reddit, Twitter, Facebook Groups, Slack etc. Tell them about your problem and if they can guess why you are not getting more subscribers... Hopefully you will find out what they want.
