Hi,
I'm getting ready to launch my app uFeed, and I need help thinking through my sign up flow.
I decided to provide 30 days free trial but collect credit card at sign up:
I'd like to remove a step. Step #3 might be unneeded because I only have 1 plan ($5/month). How do I skip #3 but while still make it clear to the user what's the pricing and plan? I tried to find an example but most apps provide a free trial w/o cc.
Any suggestions about how to design such flow? Anyone has done experiments with it?
Is there a resource to explore flows/designs (sign up or others) for SaaS apps? It would be great if I can just look at a bunch of examples
I've taken a similar approach recently - when users sign up on my free plan at step 2 (signup page), step 3 (select plan) happens automatically in the background and they are taken to step 4 (Stripe), a pre-filled Stripe checkout page for that free plan. Detailed info about the different plans is available on the /pricing page.
Hope that helps - and, for what it's worth, I'm looking into doing no-cc free plan as inputting cc details can be a big barrier for getting people subscribed for free plans.
Do you mind sharing your landing page so I can take a look?
No CC plan makes sense, but at this point I want to validate that people are willing to pay. If I can get 5 paying users at $5/month, I might request CC after the trial end
I'm still working on the final details for my landing page but I'll be sure to share with you when it's ready!
I think the cc / no cc issue is a bit of a trade off: you're likely to lose a few potential customers who refuse to sign up for a free trial with cc details; but gain a few customers because of reduced friction to upgrade from free trial/free plan to a paid plan... at least that's my thinking. Stripe integration wise, I've also found it easier to collect cc info at the outset and then let Checkout/webhooks do the heavy lifting
Thanks
