Help your fellow indies, share your lead generation resources

I'm currently starting my third business and will be using the same lead generation method as in the first two - build something they want to read first.

Let me explain:

Some time ago I wrote a lengthy treatise on why you should start your own media to build an audience and, in turn, customers. I turned this first chapter into a newsletter that very quickly got a few dozen subscribers. In fact, it got just the right subscribers and I got my first two clients for my media building agency off of this.

The previous two companies were built in a similar way - one got clients from a fairly popular satirical twitter account and the other from an instagram account. Crazy, I know :D

But the new agency will have to have a more structured client acquisition flow. I'm still betting on the newsletter doing good ( i just need to get in the flow of writing once all the business is set up), but I'm also considering looking at cold email.
