Helping 100+ Businesses Get More Positive Reviews with a Simple Web App

Last December I had the idea for Review Funnel as I tossed and turned, trying to go to sleep. Fast forward to now and I just recently surpassed the 100 premium users mark.

What is Review Funnel?

Review Funnel is a web app that lets business owners create a dynamic page (aka a Review Funnel) where they can gather all of their review links. This Review Funnel can then be shared as a link or QR code to request reviews from their customers. You can think of it as linktree with features for business owners.

I came up with the idea because of the common problem several of my web development and design clients had: the tedious task of getting their customers to leave them reviews.

How it Filters Reviews

Review Funnel's other main feature is the ability to screen whether the customer is about to leave a negative review with a simple thumbs-up/thumbs-down page. If the user hits thumbs up, then all of the business's review links are provided on a custom page. On the other hand (pun intended), the thumbs-down button reveals a form to leave a review that is privately shared with the business owner. This feature is optional as I believe it is important for each business to decide whether they should use it.

Key Benefits

  • 1. Link Simplification:
Having all your review platforms and profiles in one place lets your customers choose the platform they are most familiar with. Many review sites (including Facebook Pages and Google Business Profiles) require a sign-in before a review can be left. This is a huge drop-off point for many customers and giving them more options increases the chances they will find a platform they are more familiar with to leave a review on.
  • 2. Less negative reviews:
The aforementioned thumbs-up/thumbs-down page can help a business owner avoid having a negative review publicly posted while still receiving valuable negative feedback privately.
  • 3. Diverse Review Presence:
Diversifying your online review presence is very important. I have worked with a few clients who have lost all of their years of effort gathering reviews because Google or Facebook suspended their accounts. Having your reviews in more than one place means extra protection against such a situation. Review Funnel makes getting reviews on various platforms that much easier.
  • 4. Customizable:
Being able to customize a Review Funnel with a business's brand colors and logo means increased trust and consistent branding across the review request process.
  • 5. Dynamic Facebook Page Button:
Sharing a link to get Facebook Page reviews is not straightforward. There are many ways to link to a Facebook page but none of them guarantee the customer arrives at the reviews section of the page. Review Funnel automatically detects if the user is logged into Facebook via the Facebook API and dynamically redirects them to the reviews tab of the business's page regardless of login status.
  • 6. Multiple Reviews:
During the last few months, we have seen users leave more than one review via the various buttons on the Review Funnel. I am considering adding an optional progress meter to the Review Funnels to further incentivize this result.

Your Turn

Making your own Review Funnel is completely free and anyone can try it out. The premium version gives you the ability to replace the Review Funnel branding with your logo and control the background color of your Review Funnel.
