If these were your startup's website analytics, what you prioritize? What would you do to help increase traffic sources? Aesthetically - what do you think?
I'd love your feedback and suggestions on how to improve and what tools/resources you've found helpful.
July (launch) - Dec 2020:
Thank you for your time!
I took a look, and went through some of the quiz, but didn't end up finishing it, (I have enough kids, and don't really want to end up on another email list). Here's what I have:
1.a As a sub-point to SEO, you could add some more content to the main site for search engines to pick up on. I see you have a blog, but could there be a page about each of the 4 parent types, (and make the circles link to them), or could there be more in the About page, (maybe a couple of pages)? If you can figure out some keywords that people with babies are searching for it might help guide what people are searching for and will actually be relevant.
Are you measuring abandonment rate on the quiz? Are people abandoning partway through? I would try to measure that so I could see if any questions are causing trouble.
This is a personal thing, but as someone who no longer owns a car, partly for environmental reasons, the question about which car the baby will go home in, and they were all, (I think), pretty bug SUVs & vans, was kind of discouraging. Maybe add something like taxi, cargo bike, ZipCar, or transit for us city-dwellers/radical hippies? (This could be informed by data, though, if it's not already).
My observations:
You've got something embedded in your site that is broken: "form.typeform.com’s server IP address could not be found."
The brown doesn't work for me. I hate to say it but it reminds me of baby poop. Just my $.02 - no offense intended.
g. None I've never heard of the concept of a "babymoon" but I'm 50 and both my kids are adults (I started young) - not sure what that says about me "parent type" wise
i. All of the above - again, not sure what that says about me
I like the fact that the quiz is relatively short but I'm wondering how much variation must be in the list with 4 types.
I don't know, maybe there's "Hovering Parent" that buys multiple baby monitors, puts their kid on a leash and harness, is always wiping them up, etc.
"Free-Spirited Parent" that is the exact oppostive - their kids are running around free in restaurants and maybe are extremely messy or dirty, they never leave on time and they never show up on time. Meeting times and appointments are "guidelines".
Maybe links to descriptions and/or characterizations of each parent type? Ie, that's an opportunity to build more pages with more keywords...
More posts for SEO and specific keywords
Maybe turn your Holiday Gift Guide into a "recommended purchases" list and link it in your menu?
Maybe use more icons or images to represent concepts you want to convey
I'd recommend taking your post about percentages and turn it into a blog post with more keywords and concepts
