I kept losing time jumping between Product Hunt, Hacker News, Reddit, Indie Hackers, and YouTube while building.
So I built Here Be Shovels - a curated outpost for indie makers and AI builders.
It quietly aggregates:
– tools worth using
– launches worth noticing
– AI signals that actually affect builders
– YouTube channels indie hackers really watch
It’s intentionally calm, opinionated, and updated every 6 hours.
I built it for myself. Sharing in case it’s useful to others too.
The "intentionally calm" positioning resonates. Most aggregators try to be comprehensive and end up feeling like drinking from a firehose. Curation that's opinionated is actually more useful than curation that's exhaustive.
The 6-hour update cadence is smart too - frequent enough to catch things, slow enough that you're not constantly checking. That's the sweet spot between FOMO and sanity.
Curious: what's your filtering criteria for "tools worth using"? That's the hardest part of curation - the difference between "interesting launch" and "actually useful for real projects" is huge.
