I am about to setup a mastodon handle for my startup, just created a personal one elsewhere. What's the rationale behind making the instance invite-only?
Very new to this and ignorant of nuances & community norms. I've started skimming https://martinfowler.com/articles/exploring-mastodon.html as a guide
The instance runs on low hardware and I don't want it to be overrun. And on the other hand I want folks to actually join because they are indiehackers and not some random shitposter.
