Here's the data on my paying vs non-paying customers based on team size. I'd love any thoughts on pricing.

Right now ~2 months after launching this is a breakdown of my users by team size. Some other details:

  • I have one price point right now for simplicities sake - $20 per month, per team
  • It's a small SaaS app that can be added to a common workplace tool and then used by the entire team
  • 30-day free trial where people can install without adding a credit card

I think the next step needs to look at users using the app per workspace, but I think this needs to also be looked at in isolation because it can be improved.

IMO paying customers seem more skewed towards higher-team size. So two concerns I have:

  • smaller teams are less receptive to pricing
  • higher teams aren't being charged at an appropriate level

Would love any thoughts on how you think pricing should be broken up or how I should be interpreting this. Happy to answer any questions in return.

Looks like your free vs paid accounts data is correlating fairly well. Except for the 19 and under brackets. Might want to look at lowering price point a little or offer bigger incentives to convert? Otherwise can you engage direct with them and ask more questions.

Do you think our pricing is fair ?
What else would you like to have to buy?

    More intel from paying customers in that bracket;
Why did you decide to become paying customer?

Nice to see a Brisbanite on here!

      It is!
I never expect to get a response in my timezone ;)

That's my thinking - I should try a reduce price option for teams <20
So far price hasn't actually come up when requesting feedback. But I also think that's to do with the larger number of large teams. So odds are I'm speaking to larger teams

Cool mate. So this project is different to the gramreports product listed on your profile?
Feel free to shoot through any messages to me, but not too sure if you can do PM here on IH.

Yeah this is a new one. I sunk way too much time in to Gramreports without validating properly. This one has a lot more momentum.
Hopefully, I'll clean up gramreports and get it working again in the future

Of all the free account how many of them have passed the 30-day free trial? Meaning how many of them not converted?

Good question. As of this morning
      477 installed
      205 currently on trial
      36 total valid accounts

        1. Increase the price if you think its undervalued for bigger team, they'll use it anyway.
        2. Most of the smaller team will probably not convert even if you lower the price, but one thing you can do is run discounted campaign, like 50%-80% of only for smaller teams (less than 99 people) for next 6 months or a year, that may convert some them and if they use it for at least 6 month or year, they'll continue to use it when the price go back to normal. Also don't fix a end date for campaign and don't mention when its gonna end to the user, that way you can run the campaign as long as you want and end it whenever you'll feel like it and don't have to extend the campaign again and again if it doesn't do well.

          thanks for taking the time!
discount is a good idea - i was originally just going to have a lower price point based on team size, but I like discounts as an added incentive.
Will keep experimenting with larger team pricing.
