hey guys! I'm dying for an app that lets me sell/swap/buy books from others. Think Poshmark but for books. Who's up for the challenge?
I have experience in branding, design, marketing, sales -- I would need a tech person to develop the app and I'll take care of the rest. I've been buying so many books lately and I have no space. I want someone to have them but there's no space yet where people can just sell their books. Whether for university or for personal leisure.

It is already possible to sell books on Vinted right? At least here in Europe it is. ( I live in The Netherlands )

So who does this already? Amazon does, lots of used book stores already.
How are users currently do it, and what is missing?
Amazon does this differently - I'm looking to create something like Poshmark but for books. Or Vinted for books. The whole concept would be around selling books you have laying around or swapping books with someone that has a book you want and would potentially want one of yours. I see it as a very simple system of "recycling" without having to create a business account on Amazon for example. We're missing a platform dedicated purely to books. Thinks Goodreads with the option to buy the book you read. What do you think?
It's interesting, I'm not familiar with the two services, so looking at this blind.
But seems like doing it regionally would be best at first. Shipping internationally is a PAIN. :)

the idea so far is simple - upon discussion more can be added/taken away. I'm really looking to create a space where people can post their books and have the option to swap them if someone else is interested in something they own OR sell them directly. a worldwide concept. could start within EU OR US first to test the market, and expand from there. I'm also thinking all books have ISBNs - if the app could come with a search engine that already has the filled out info for users as long as they have the ISBN, would be even better for organization and classification.
@MGKNeT that's something that can be discussed. I would argue mobile would be better to start with but can definitely expand into website if we spot a need

I would love to offload the books collecting dust in my nightstand. I also love looking through craigslist hoping to find a gem, but a dedicated site for this would be nice! Not to mention I'd love to recoup some $ on those hardcovers I paid too much for. I'm technical, tell me more.
