Hey Indie Hackers

I’ve always found public speaking a mix of exciting and intimidating. Even after years of running meetings and pitching ideas, I noticed I still slipped into filler words, lost my pacing, or just felt flat. The problem? Practising alone never gave me feedback, and practising in front of people felt too high-stakes.

That’s why I started building SpeakMore AI. It’s an app where you can practice in private, record yourself, and get instant AI feedback on things like filler words, pace, and tone. On top of that, there are daily challenges designed to nudge you into practising regularly — a bit like Duolingo, but for speaking.

My hope is to make improving at public speaking less scary and more habit-forming, something you can work on every day, not just before a big presentation.

I’d love to hear from you:

What’s been your biggest challenge with public speaking?

My biggest challenge is thinking about a word I wanna say but forgetting it mid sentence and then having to change the whole sentence from beginning.

Such a smart concept. Public speaking apps often focus on performance hacks, but what really drives improvement is habit + feedback. SpeakMore AI nails that with daily challenges and instant analysis. As someone who helps founders distill complex ideas into clear, persuasive words, I see huge potential for positioning this as not just a practice tool but a confidence-building companion.

Love the idea. My biggest challenge is nerves speeding me up, fillers sneaking in, and forgetting the close.

What would help me: a quick 60 second outline helper with goal, three beats, and a clear close, a live pace meter with a green zone, and a simple filler counter. Does SpeakMore give feedback live, or only after recording?

I like this. Practicing in private with feedback is the missing layer because most of us either rehearse alone with zero correction, or on stage with maximum stakes.

For me, the biggest challenge hasn’t been filler words it’s holding the room’s energy when faces go blank. No AI tool has cracked that yet, but if SpeakMore can at least build the habit and sharpen delivery, it’s already solving 80% of the pain.
