Hey indiehackers, we are having an identity crisis!

Hi, it's Buğra from Tractific! For people who don't know, it's an analytics tool that gives you AI-generated suggestions on optimizing your metrics. We have been working on our MVP for a few weeks now, and it’s all starting to come together. However, we have this one very big problem. We can not figure out whether to focus the technology on product intelligence or conversion rate optimization.

From the start, our entire focus was on conversion rate and landing pages. Our key value proposition was shaped around this, and all our pre-launch marketing efforts were in this area. However, we have uncovered certain technical disadvantages to using our technology on landing pages as opposed to products themselves. While the technical advantages are leaning towards the product intelligence side, the marketing advantages are leaning towards the conversion rate optimization side.

We believe it's still early to decide. The technology can be shifted to product intelligence with minor changes. Which side would you most benefit from? Which route should we take?

Bugra, if you mean that Tractific will get more people to add items to their cart, I'd say that's pretty compelling. Maybe moreso than converting on a landing page.

There are plenty of A/B or multi-variant tools available that can help optimize landing pages, so maybe it's a good thing that your software could be better used on Product pages.

Also, my suggestion would be to dumb-down the messaging, and focus on the emotional aspect (i.e. get more sales), not the technical ("AI-generated suggestions").

Leave the technical stuff for blog articles, FAQs, or other site pages.
