Hey you Blogger! are you doing multiple sources?
Call out to all bloggers out there.
Wanted to see what your setup is, I'm looking to see who of you uses multiple platforms!
So my main blog: https://daily-dev-tips.com is a custom website and main source of traffic.
I recently added dev.to and hashnode and include canonical URLs to my original articles.
What is your professional opinion on doing so?
I've used dev.to + my main blog and it works great. I have tried using medium as well but the traffic I got from that was about 100 times less than through dev.to, so now I don't bother.
Oh nice, glad to hear, how do you filter out the traffic on the long term?
Sorry, filter out what traffic? I just stopped posting on medium and now just post on dev.to and my main blog, codemochi.com. I set the canonical URL on dev.to to be my main page and I'm in business!
I mean in google analytics, how do you know who comes from dev.to?
Ooh I understand. I actually got my statistics off of what the medium and dev dashboards were saying so it wasn't as fancy as seeing the different traffic streams coming into my site from google analytics. That's an awesome question that I'd love to know the answer to- thanks for the followup!
