Hi guys! Giving indie-hacking my first attempt :)

Hi guys, I've been a lurker for the past few months but I'm taking a leap of faith and giving it a shot! I'm building FundMatch, a tool that'll be used to connect and bridge the gap between individuals and funding using search & generative AI.

Check us out and please subscribe to receive updates at https://fundmatch.dev

I'm also going to try out this whole 'building-in-public' :) it seems cool and definitely a good way to begin growing a brand.

For those interested, I'm planning on building an MVP now whilst simultaneously attempting to reach out to potential users so that while I build, I can also get valuable feedback and pivot / iterate if and when needed. I need to build some ETL pipelines that collect data (funding data, specifically) from all corners of the internet and then build a search engine so that my users can look them up and get easy access to funding. So instead of people going and searching on google and sifting through documents they'll be able to search for it and get better results using my app / tool.

Another crucial part will be using generative AI and specifically LLM's to assist individuals in funding proposals (research labs & PI's).

Your feedback is greatly appreciated! I'm also a 23 y/o solo-founder so I currently am indeed searching for a co-founder / founding engineer :).

Rooting for you all the way! Curious if you already have a solid strategy in getting potential users? Or will it be through here in IH?

      Thanks Alex!
I don't have a solid set-in-stone strategy yet for getting potential users as I'm still working on building out a very initial and bare-bones MVP that'll allow users to search / get alerts for any new funding opportunities.

Once I get that basic MVP with a simple flask frontend or even gradio set-up then I'll probably begin reaching out via email to all my previous professors and ask them to try it out and give me feedback.

Once I get some valuable feedback and make some improvements then I'll probably be in the beta-stage and will work on re-vamping my landing page from there.

Once the landing page is revamped and the initial beta application is set-up, then I'll start my user acquisition strategy with cold-emailing at first... Not sure how else but for now I've ot cold-emailing at the top of the list lol. If you've got any suggestions for me please do feel free to critique my work-flow !

Sounds solid! Looks like you already have your path outlined. Only suggestion from me I guess is to identify where your market will be hanging out and promote there. Then also try to get your product listed pretty much everywhere (ProductHunt, G2, etc.)

Good luck. I've landed here just couple of months ago myself.

Thanks Kota! Hope things are going well for you :)

Best of luck! I'm also new here, and it's encouraging to see others in a similar early phase as me in building something exciting and new. It will be interesting to see how you incorporate LLMs into this. I wish you the best!

hello, your idea is interesting. i wonder if you would consider a co-founder from Asia? i'm from Indonesia and i have a bachelor's degree in business, but i don't have any technical experience.

      Hi Shereen,
Sorry but I think the time-zone difference won't work well plus I need someone at-least slightly technical. :(
