Hi IH :) What's the cheapest A/B testing tool out there?

Hello Indiehackers!

Firstly, I'm glad to have joined before it became invite only.

Time and again I have found great resources on IH and some of them have played a vital role in my toolset for both software development and distribution.

I want to do some basic split testing on landing pages designed for paid keywords. However, all the tools out there (VWO, Optimizely, CrazyEgg, RightMessage) seem to be quite expensive.

Netlify's branch splitting feature seems to be an option, but I would prefer to not change my website's destination.

Does anyone here know any A/B testing tool that's more affordable?

Thanks in advance for helping!

Google Optimize (1) is free and I have been using it on a page with 3+ million pageviews per month. You get 5 free tests at a time. Unfortunately, content experiments (aka multi-armed bandit) was discontinued - this was a good testing strategy for lower-volume pages.

Right, I knew I had to be missing something. Thanks!

Also, I discovered https://splitstack.co/ by @SeaOfDreams. Probably worth checking it out as well.

Never tried it, but I stumbled upon this tool because they just raised a series A : https://statsig.com/
It is built by ex-Facebook engineers and they seem to have a generous free-tier.

Hey thanks, will definitely check this out.

I'm interested in this also, tired of manually coding A/B tests, onboarding systems etc.

It's interesting how B2B products like that seem to be more and more geared towards enterprises as they grow, and become harder to use for smaller companies (e.g. Intercom). Wondering if there's an opportunity there.

Not sure if it fits your case but what about creating 2 separate short links pointing to the same destination URL. Track and see what works.
