Early stage founders have a lot to do, never enough time, and need to move fast, but hiring full time employees isn't always the answer.
SpiderSkill helps founders/startups find talented interns who can take care of meaningful work while you focus on the bigger things that move your business forward.
The interesting part is whether founders actually trust interns with meaningful work early enough for this to matter. Curious what kinds of work your earliest users are most willing to delegate.
I actually think interns can take on a lot of meaningful work if the founder is clear about what they need from them. The problem is often not the intern's ability, but unclear expectations or giving them work without enough context.
If a founder can define a specific outcome, explain what needs to be done, give them the right context, and have a way to review their work, interns can become really useful contributors. Things like research, content, testing, outreach, design, development tasks, and operational work can all be handled well depending on the person's skills.
I think the best approach is to start with a clearly defined task, let them prove themselves, and gradually give them more responsibility. That can work really well for both the founder and the intern.
That makes sense. The progression from a defined task to more responsibility is interesting. Happy to continue the conversation outside IH too — what’s the best email to reach you at?
