hired my brother-in-law but I need help to start something

tl;dr: my brother was laid off because of this covid19 situation. I hired him to teach him to work for me and launch something.

I need help in how to find business ideas? Something that I could build in 6 months or so. I'm a fullstack developer and already have experience with startups and managing servers, so I think I can have what it takes to build something from the ground, just need a plan and execution.

I like to think that I'm a talented software engineer. I always dreamed about launching a side project but never really committed to it. Now I think it's a good opportunity since I can help my brother-in-law to learn code and try to launch something together in 6 months.

If everything goes sideways, at least, he will have some experience to put in his portfolio and find a software developer job in the industry.

Anyways, I'd appreciate very much books, videos and references.

You seem to have enough qualities to start up. You might actually end up doing something.

I would suggest looking at your life, your work, your family or just something that you are involved in. This gives you an idea about what kind of product to create and you will have easier time as you improve the product.
