Hiring a content writer?
I'm looking for advice around hiring a content writer for a couple of articles to help improve my site's SEO.
I am not the best writer, but I know what I want articles to cover. I would ideally like to find a wordsmith to help turn my bullet points/notes into well written guides (roughly 1 to 2k words each).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My advice is to learn to write. It's a skill and one that is going to become more important in the future. Plus, the ability to communicate is helpful in any area of life.
I am not even an English speaker and I built content sites. If you talk about technical subjects, where people are more interested to learn than to be entertained, the form is secondary. Have you ever tried reading the lean startup or the hard thing about hard things?
If you don't want to learn may advice is to be as detailed as possibile. Not only you should provide the structure, with main titles and areas to cover, you should add the resources to link to/learn from and the number of words for each section. The more detailed you are the better the work you will get.
I absolutely agree that writing is an invaluable skill. Up until this point, I have written all the content myself, which has helped me get a basic understanding of works for content marketing and SEO.
The main issue is time. Writing is a slow process for me. Between coding, talking to customers, handling support issues, etc... it's been hard to find the time to write content. Hence, of all the tasks (I'm a software developer by trade) it seems the most logical to outsource.
Yeah, you are right. Working on the product and talking to customers are more critical tasks, tasks that shouldn't be outsourced until you can handle them by yourself.
