Hiring a Marketing Agency vs. Internal Team

Hey IH, my company is on the verge of getting a significant capital injection and we're preparing for growth stage. I'm wondering what people's opinions are on whether you think developing an internal marketing team is better or worse than hiring a marketing agency. I've read a lot of the articles about pros and cons and would like to hear from people who have experiences with either.
