Who We Are
Sellit is an e-commerce marketplace startup based in Miami, Florida. Sellit’s mission is to revolutionize the modern-day shopping mall; bringing an in-person shopping experience online. We do this by building a unique ecosystem that creates a social experience for the customer, while simultaneously driving organic traffic and growth for Sellers (brands & stores). We’ve altered the genetic makeup of a transactional cross-platform marketplace, injecting social interaction, building communities, rethinking search, and making discovery natural. We believe that traditional marketplaces like Amazon and eBay have not been challenged, nor have they evolved to deliver a great user experience. This presents a unique & ripe opportunity to disrupt one of the largest markets in the world.

About The Role
We are seeking a Rockstar Technical Co-Founder (s) / CTO who wants to be a part of building a transformational company. This position will give you the keys to the rocket ship: leading the technical build, implementation, and improvement of our current platform. It’s super important that this individual (s) is deeply invested in our company, believes in the vision, and is willing to muck through the startup trenches. This position is a combination of equity and a compensation package (full salary once we raise our second round), as terms can be adjusted depending on the candidate’s experience/situation.

Background & Current Position
We currently have a fully built, feature-rich, cross-platform (Web, IOS, & Android) social e- commerce marketplace. Some of the features that we have built include: Product & Store Reviews, Comments, Following & Discover Feed, Advanced Search, Inventory Management, Store Builder, Product Variants, Order Management, Multiple Sellers Checkout, Search & Store Filters, Saved, Share, Report, etc. Our current team has been scaled down to 3 developers (front, back, mobile) working minimum hours, as we focus on bug fixing, user testing, onboarding stores, and small improvements. Once we find the right technical co – founder (s) and he/she feels ready to take control, we will break away from our current outsourced team, thus continuing our journey towards building the best product & team possible!

What You'll Be Doing

• Build API integrations with third-party e-commerce platforms, shipping providers, & 3PL services
• Bring our Groups feature live
• Expand & customize our payment processor options
• Advance our search algorithm, discovery page, and product feed
• Explore options to implement AI and Machine Learning
• Build out seller dashboard (insights, sales metrics, etc.)
• Work closely with our product team to implement new designs and UI changes
• Play an integral role part in shaping our product roadmap and UA strategy
• Assist in other aspects of the business such as fundraising, marketing, and user testing
• Find, recruit, and build out the best possible technical team

Opportunity

• Product Ownership: Own the technical strategy for the product and step into a leadership role from the ground floor

• Funding & Valuation: We're in a good position to bootstrap for a few months, gain more traction before we raise our second round of funding (4-8M).

• Early traction: We've received great feedback from stores & brands. Growing requests to join our beta

• Clean & consistent code. Sellit has been built by a single cohesive team of developers since day 1 (smooth handoff)

• Foundation is Set: We have already gone through the trenches of designing, building, and testing our Web & Mobile platform.

Tech Stack:

• Frontend Web: React for web, Redux for data flow, Webpack for config/build, Karma/Jasmine for Unit Testing, Next JS

• Mobile App: Flutter, Firebase (Cloud messaging, Crashlytics, Performance, Analytics)

• Backend: Python/Django/django-oscar, PostgreSQL as db, Redis, Celery

• Infrastructure: AWS, Git, CI/CD: Docker and gitlabCI
