Reliability is key to giving our users the best experience. The 50k+ users connecting on our platform every month trust us because we provide a reliable free service to forward the emails they need. You will be one of the key players who will be responsible for the scalability and stability of our platform, responsible for forwarding 2 million emails per day on average.
You will learn and grow as we do while we build the world’s best email forwarding solution. We are looking for someone to help us configure, manage and improve our infrastructure mainly hosted on AWS.
ImprovMX is a service that lets you forward emails from a domain to a personal email. For instance, you can configure your email on your-domain.com to your personal Gmail inbox and configure rules (contact@, support@, etc) depending on what you want to do.
You will be working on configuring, improving, and managing the infrastructure located at AWS and OVH. We take a full-stack approach to developing user-first products our clients love. Our software runs on a Python/Flask stack, with VueJS for the front-end.
We are a bootstrapped, small team and you’ll be in touch with us on a daily basis. We won’t micro-manage or tell you what to do; instead, we want you to bring in your own expertise to make ImprovMX a rock-solid product.
We want you to join us because you enjoy the challenges of high-scale site reliability and are passionate about email delivery and supporting high-scale load.
We are looking for someone who is at ease with how email works, including SPF/DKIM/DMARC and the (e)SMTP protocol. You know Debian in and out and have some solid knowledge of Python, especially Python-scripting.
You know your way around AWS, and especially:
Another facet of your job will also be to ingeniously prevent bad actors from using our infrastructure to spam or harass our users. You will be monitoring third-party postmaster tools and updating our processes to counter abuser attacks and ensure state of the art reputation of all of our IP addresses.
You will also be on the on-call team in case any issues occur that require your intervention. A bonus will be added to your base salary every time you have to handle an outage, although a big portion of your day should be spent on avoiding this to happen altogether 😉
