Hiring: Marketing Coordinator for Newsletter Glue
We're looking for an experienced marketing coordinator in the WordPress ecosystem.
About the company
Newsletter Glue is a WordPress plugin that lets users publish newsletters inside WordPress. Build templates, publish curated newsletters and connect to email service providers.
We're a young WordPress plugin company. We have some initial traction and are now looking to build the company and grow.
We work 100% remotely and value good work done by competent people.
We focus a lot on Gutenberg and staying at the forefront of WordPress developments.
Being close to customers, learning from them, and providing excellent support is important to us.
The work
Here is a list of work you'll be helping to manage:
Partnerships
- We have 3 types of partners:
- Email service provider integrations
- Relevant dev tools (e.g. hosting, static site generators)
- Industry bloggers, YouTubers, podcasters
- Identify and execute opportunities for collaboration
- List on integration partner directories
- Guest posting
- Social media, conferences, online talks
- Leverage their agencies partnerships
- Anything else?
- Consolidate key marketing messaging to systemise outreach
- Frequency: Ongoing, this is the bulk of the work in this role.
Product announcements/launches
We'll have some big product launches which require more effort (3-5x/year) and smaller ongoing product announcements (6-8x/year)
- Update changelog
- Create short demos and blog posts
- Social media
- Joint launches with partners
- Frequency: 1-2 launches/month

- Outreach to newsletter writers to get tips
- Collate tips
- Work with me to publish the tips
- Repurpose tips for social media
- Grow email list
- Frequency: Ongoing
In addition...
- We’ll be starting a YouTube channel soon and will need help with admin around that
- Writing and updating pages on newsletterglue.com
- Working closely with existing team on content marketing
- Occasionally writing support documentation
Skills
- WordPress. You need to have worked in the WordPress ecosystem before. Whether that's at an agency building sites or a theme/plugin shop.
- Even better if you have familiarity with Gutenberg.
- Outreach and professionalism. A big part of this role is reaching out to partners and managing co-marketing campaigns. So your ability to represent Newsletter Glue well and make collaborations happen is key.
- Coordination and organisation. We work in Notion. Keeping everything organised and knowing what work is ongoing and what needs to be followed up with is key. Having good habits and hygiene around this is important.
- Writing. You don't need to be Shakespeare. If you can write as advised in this post, it will be good enough.
- Communication. We use Slack (also easy to learn if you don't currently use it). We're async, but sometimes it's nice to be online at the same time to quickly clarify stuff. 12 hour turnaround for DMs is good. If you will be away for more than 24 hours on weekdays, just a simple message to say so is better than going MIA.
- Learning. You'll have to learn about the plugin in depth in order to write/teach people about it.
Expectations
- 10-20 hours/week + weekly marketing alignment call
- I live in Singapore (UTC+8). We work asynchronously with the exception of the weekly marketing call which we’ll set up at a time that works for both of us.
- At the beginning: We'll go slow. I want to make sure you get up and running with one thing before we add another.
- Tell me what pace works for you. I will have a tendency to speed up (because I'm already familiar with everything). If you cannot keep up, you must tell me. Feel free to tell me constantly.
- You will need to know about the plugin (and about newsletters) in depth after 3-4 weeks.
- My ideal would be to work with someone experienced (5-10 years) who can do this stuff in their sleep and who wants a more flexible and independent part time job that isn't stressful. It's fine if you have other clients/freelance work, as long as you’re able to work min 10 hours/week.
