What do you use for creating homepage animating showcases of products? Are there tools that make it easy?

Don't do it.
Unless your service /product is actually a moving art or something like that..
Most people use it wrong and it's just a distraction from your main message.
If you are selling a moving object or art, still consider the animation to only happen on mouse point.
Ask yourself and a 3rd party seriously if it helps the message.
There are many different types of animations and you didn't detail match, a basic type is a moving gif, it can be for example extracted from a video or made from merging static images with free tools.
That animated gif can be used anywhere forground or background or even as a mouse cursor..
Common animations also include image galleries that switch highlighted images with change over animations, many exist online free or paid and many as CMS (like WordPress) plugins etc.
Menu animations are another thing which is available as JavaScript scripts one can add to the site

I actually needed to visualize unique features not available anywhere else.
Text is not enough for me in this case.
Screenshots communicate a lot if you have the thing clear
I understand and usually I would agree, but in this case scenario I want to use and test animation though. I never did it, so I want to play around with it.
