I went to a few in Taiwan.
It was setup by friends who took us there. Had a private room with a view of the mountains. Experience was great. One thing we didnt know was in Taiwan they require bathing caps for ur head in public pools.
I was looking at another in Santa Fe, NM ran across on tripadvisor. I think a specific hot spring database would be very helpful.

When you checked the Tripadvisor, were any specific information that would have helped you to make a decision regarding a place?

trip advisor was too generic. I had to go to the hot spring resort site to find out more about the types of pools they offer, water temps, water types, gender separation, kid friendliness, bathing suit requirements, etc... I think for hot springs it's all very specialized that's why I don't think trip advisor can handle it well ;) Thus a good opportunity to optimize it for those who care obviously...
