How a conversation with a courier friend pushed me to build a last-mile delivery SaaS

Recently I was talking with a friend who works as a courier. He told me that a lot of drivers still plan their routes manually opening maps, adding stops one by one, and trying to guess the best order.

Sometimes it works, but a lot of the time it just means extra driving, wasted fuel, and losing time during the day. And the funny thing is that even small changes in the order of stops can save quite a bit of time.

That conversation reminded me why I built Optiway Route Planner a simple tool for planning and optimizing multi-stop delivery routes.

The idea is pretty straightforward: help drivers travel fewer kilometers, complete more stops in less time, and make the whole delivery process easier — all in one place.

If anyone here works in delivery, logistics, or field services, I’d be really curious how you currently plan your routes and what problems you run into
