I've spent 22 years in marketing and CRO. I've run campaigns across Pakistan, the US, UK, UAE, and beyond.
For 22 years, I kept seeing the same painful pattern:
Brilliant freelancers and small agencies would land promising leads. They had the talent, the drive, the creativity. But when clients asked for data-backed strategy, they'd freeze. Research costs money they didn't have.
Enterprise tools? $10,000+/year. Research agencies? $5,000+ per report. Generic AI? Superficial advice.
So I called my son. He's been coding since his teens and understands AI, full-stack development, and how to build things that actually work. I said: "Let's fix this."
We built Kilence.
Tech stack: Django (Python) on the backend – secure, scalable, with built-in admin tools. Frontend in HTML/CSS, JavaScript. AI orchestration layer (including DeepSeek) with our proprietary marketing logic.
The secret sauce? I brought 22 years of knowing what actually converts. My son built the engine. Together, we created an expertise layer that guides the AI – so when you ask for a CRO audit, you get insights shaped by real-world wins, not generic internet summaries.
Results in 6 weeks (zero marketing spend):
40+ freelancers and small agencies signed up
Users across Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bangladesh
A global agency – Publicis Groupe – tested us and loved it
All traffic from LinkedIn organic, free directories, and word of mouth
Real feedback:
"I created in 30 minutes what used to take 3 days." – Lahore
"Finally I can pitch like the big agencies." – Karachi
Lessons learned:
Distribution matters as much as product
Free directories are underrated (submit everywhere!)
Paying users advocate for you; freemium users don't
Being a father-son team is our superpower
22 years of expertise is our moat
What's next: More report types, localization, partnerships. Still just the two of us – learning every day.
If you're building something: start before you're ready, tell your story, engage genuinely.

22 years of domain expertise baked into the product is a real unfair advantage - that's the kind of thing that usually shows up in the quality of the output vs. generic AI wrappers. 40 clients in week 1 through pure word of mouth is also a strong signal that your unit economics are probably healthy enough to start testing paid channels if you want to scale faster. which verticals are most of those 40 clients in?
Really appreciate that – thank you. You’re spot on: the 22 years of experience is what makes the output feel different. It’s not just AI summarizing; it’s AI guided by patterns from thousands of real campaigns.
As for the 40 clients in week 1, they’re a mix of:
Freelance marketers (SEO specialists, CRO consultants, social media managers)
Small agencies (2–10 people, mostly serving local businesses and e‑commerce)
Direct SMB owners (especially in e‑commerce, professional services, and local retail)
Geographically, most are in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia – we’ve had a few from Bangladesh and the Middle East as well.
The unit economics comment is interesting. We’ve been thinking about testing paid channels, but right now we’re focusing on nailing the product and onboarding experience. When we do turn on paid, it’ll likely be LinkedIn and niche Slack communities first.
Thanks again for the thoughtful note – really appreciate you taking the time to dig into what we’re building. 🙌
Thanks for reading 🙏 I'll be hanging out in the comments today – happy to answer any questions about:
How we built Kilence with Django and AI orchestration
What actually worked for getting those first 40 clients with $0 marketing
The father-son dynamic (it's been an adventure!)
Marketing research, freelancers, or anything else
Would love to hear from others who are building with family, bootstrapping, or working on AI tools. What's your biggest challenge right now? 👇
