Getting more traffic is only half of the problem.
If 10,000 people visit your website and only 100 of them buy something, getting another 10,000 visitors isn't necessarily the best way to grow.
Sometimes the bigger opportunity is fixing the reasons why the existing visitors don't convert.
This is what conversion rate optimization (CRO) is about.
Traditionally, CRO involves analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, A/B tests, user research, and a lot of manual work.
AI is starting to change that.
What can AI actually do for conversion rate optimization?
An AI system can analyze much more than just your conversion rate.
It can look for things such as:
pages with unusually high bounce rates
users repeatedly clicking on elements that don't work
confusing navigation
weak calls to action
problematic checkout flows
mobile UX issues
pages where users frequently drop off
friction between landing on a page and completing the desired action
The difficult part isn't necessarily finding these problems.
The difficult part is actually fixing them.
Most CRO tools stop at the recommendation.
You get something like:
“Your checkout has a high abandonment rate. Consider simplifying the form.”
That's useful.
But somebody still has to implement the change.
What if the AI could implement the CRO fix?
That's the idea behind Velyr.
Velyr is an AI CRO agent designed to continuously find and implement conversion improvements.
Instead of only generating a CRO audit, the agent can go from:
analytics → problem → code change → approval → deployment → measurement
For a Shopify store, Velyr can work with the store theme.
For modern web applications, it can work with GitHub repositories using stacks such as React, Next.js, and Vite.
The agent analyzes the available data to identify a potential conversion leak, determines what could be changed, and generates the corresponding implementation.
The owner can review the proposed change before it goes live.
How does automated CRO work?
A typical workflow looks like this:
The agent analyzes behavioral and conversion data to identify areas where users are dropping off.
Instead of simply saying that conversion is low, it looks at the relevant page, UI, and user behavior to determine what might be causing the problem.
The AI generates the required copy or frontend change.
The proposed change can be reviewed before deployment.
For supported websites, the change can be shipped through the existing development workflow.
The important part is what happens after deployment.
A CRO recommendation is only a hypothesis until the numbers actually improve.
The agent can monitor the result and determine whether the change appears to have helped or hurt conversion.
Is AI CRO better than a traditional CRO agency?
Not necessarily.
An experienced CRO specialist can understand business context, customers, positioning, and qualitative feedback in ways that an automated system cannot.
But traditional CRO can also be expensive and slow for smaller businesses.
A Shopify store doing a few thousand orders per month may not want to hire a dedicated CRO team.
An indie SaaS may not have a growth engineer.
That's where an AI CRO agent can be useful.
Instead of paying someone to manually inspect the website every few weeks, the agent can continuously look for opportunities.
What is an AI CRO agent?
An AI CRO agent is different from a normal CRO dashboard.
A dashboard tells you what happened.
A CRO tool may tell you what you should test.
An AI CRO agent is intended to take the next step: investigate the problem and actually implement a potential solution.
That's the category I'm building with Velyr.
The goal isn't to replace analytics tools or CRO experts.
It's to close the gap between:
“We found a conversion problem.”
and
“We fixed it and measured the result.”
For Shopify stores, SaaS products, and modern websites, that could make continuous conversion optimization much more accessible.
That's ultimately what I'm trying to build with Velyr: an AI growth agent that doesn't just tell you how to improve conversion rate, but actually helps make the changes.
