What ideas that PG writes about are helpful to those outside of VC funding? Also, what ideas are actually harmful?
I think his ideas are pretty well applicable to indie businesses because he's very much pro-starting small and lean. Which ideas do you find controversial? I think he 's mostly quite reasonable.
Ironically, his own forum, Hacker news is now infested with business guys from the FAAngs who are constantly telling people how much better off you are being a wage slave for them and that you should put everything in their cloud to steal it. Frankly, if i was Paul and watched the dismal state of my "hackers" forum, i d shut it down.
I completely agree. PG's essays and early YC batches were all about doing more with less, being scrappy and making your own fortune (both figuratively and literally!)
Though highly regarded, PG's essays are still underrated. I believe they'll be held in higher esteem in the year 2100 than they are today.
pg's essays are excellent. You are a VC investing time equity.
Time is much more valuable than money so make sure every second in your business is producing the best ROI.
