https://polygloss.app is an ingenious language learning app that actually focuses on what people want: communicating in a language. Most apps out there will have you digest lots of content or do exercises where you don't really have to think or express yourself. Either that or they are language tandem communities where you need to already have a more advanced knowledge to hold a full conversation. Polygloss is an image guessing game, so you play with real people and start writing your own first original sentences in the language you're learning. That means you can practice in a low-stakes scenario much earlier on and with less anxiety. It's incredibly unique, useful and I'm really proud of it!

Neucards is a contact information sharing and updating iOS application that uses end-to-end encryption, so only the people you share with may have access. As far as I know, it is the only tool that gives people this level of privacy and security in the contact space. Many people want this for their text messages, so they use Signal or WhatsApp, and my hope is build a similar community for contacts.

is the contact shared from one iPhone to another iPhone encrypted today?

Yes. All of your card's information, including your photo, are encrypted using the public keys of the people who you have given your card. Nothing leaves your device without being secured first.

Curious, how are you different or better than your competition? What unique perspective/POV your business follows and leads with?

I can't say Konbini is better than anything or anyone yet, given that we're still a while away from launch, but here's the main ways we plan to be better:

    • Our competition is largely the type of company that focuses exclusively on enterprise and VC-funded customers with deep pockets (no transparent public pricing, only way to sign up is to get on a sales call). We'll have something for everyone, including hobbyists with no money to spend.

    • Rather than the bare minimum, our developer experience will actually be good. We're an API product, our API itself and everything associated with it (docs, client libraries, etc.) should be top-notch as a matter of principle. A lot like Stripe, we want developers who understand the pain of working with questionable or poorly-documented APIs to be our strongest advocates, and we're doing everything to make sure that actually happens.
