Just what the titles says, how are you building your karma on Reddit? What are your best practices that you follow to reach at higher karma points? Also, what is your Karma points right now?
Keep in mind that people go to reddit specifically to escape the advertising, SEO, and spam that have taken over most of the Internet. The goal of the karma system is to reward people who are authentic community members. If you have a genuine interest in the topic of a subreddit, simply engage as a redditor, enjoy other people's content, contribute new content that the community will appreciate, and your karma will rise. If at any point it becomes apparent to others that your priority is self-promotion, you'll start getting downvoted. When too much spam makes it into a subreddit, people stop going there altogether.
Don't say anything negative about WGU graduates! The downvotes will crush your comment karma.
i see. any experiences?
I have had some poorly worded replies blasted into dust. Their graduates are VERY proud of their achievements. My experience hiring literally hundreds of IT professionals does not stand a chance against such fervor.
i see. got it!!
Does karma on Reddit matter? If so, didn’t know this
Initially it does to post and engage in some subreddits. In linger run, it shows your credibility and makes people to rely on your comments and posts more.
I have about 450 karma and what works is to respond to the newest posts fast with a revelant comment so it gets upvoted.
Great!! Being relevant is the key.
Just ask questions, reply to comments. Karma is Reddit's way of giving incentive so that users can spend more time and interact with the platform.
