I do have a tip for how you can grow your channel, at least from personal experience.
This is just an assumption, but I think the majority (or at least a significant portion of people) of people will go to Google instead of Youtube when they have a problem (that's what I do most of the time).
Look up keywords for Google sheet that HAVE videos also listed on Google. There are plenty of tools such as Ahrefs that show you SERPs with additional features.
Then create videos based on those keywords, with the intention to rank on Google and get all that traffic coming.
I have intentionally not optimized for google but rather usefulness. I have about 200 google keywords ranked, and none of the keywords are really helpful to people who actually use google sheets. It's like "Google Sheet Templates" and "Guide to Google Sheets for Beginners" stuff like that.
Which I will not easily rank for because I don't even have templates and teach how to use google sheets better.
In order to rank, as far as I know, the words don't just appear in your writing or in this case video. but are actually useful for that search term's intent.
I get your point though, It's not what I'm optimizing for right now. Honestly trying to service existing customers as best as I can. I'll come back to YouTube soon and optimize it (probably October to the end of the year)
Sounds fair, however, once you get back to this, I do suggest looking into this more, as I do believe there are more relevant keywords than just "google sheet templates"
For example, with a quick search, I found "how to imbed google sheet full size" keyword (250/month volume) and has videos on US SERP.
Sounds like a good video idea as well.
Anyway, just something to think about once you get back to optimizing Youtube.
struggling with my channel...mainly because the lack of creative drive and no story to tell.

Most of the subscribers are from old videos.
Right now I have only one video where I'm talking about RegiRank( a saas that I've made for youtubers to help them track their SEO progress)
Once I get back home I will try to start making more videos about tech/linux/productivity tools that I use.
I think YouTube is a very good source of traffic, you can attract people to your saas if you focus on a specific niche and create video around that, also if you get blessed by youtube algorithm, lol.
Yeah, keep going - never know which videos are going to pop :)
