How can I get GPT-3 Early Beta Access?
I applied for GPT-3 a few weeks back but still haven't got any response from OpenAI team. Can anyone here please tell me if there any other way to get beta access to gpt-3 (besides applying through their website).
Anyone knows when OpenAI team is planning to make GTP-3 access public.

I trust him more then open ai. If u look online they have a discord channel u can talk to the ppl that wrote this and make ur own conclusion.
They had free access to google tensor flow and the guy claims to be somehow connected to original guys that built google tensor flow.
Seems like a secret project that google is funding for free.
I think gpt neo is legit and unlike open ai will be fully open source. Don’t know if I trust google though.
I’m mostly happy that they r giving open ai a run for their money. Microsoft paid 1 billion dollars for the code. These guys already reproduced gpt 3 mostly at home with no funding other then google giving them access for free. Makes Microsoft suckers for paying that much.
Best chance you have is to try and email someone like Greg Brockman with a concise explanation of your use case. Most likely you will just have to wait though.
I think the response saying not to use GPT-3 is wrong if you need something powerful. GPT-3 has 175 billion parameters and cost millions of dollars to train. It's a significant improvement over the previous state of the art. If you need a general text generation model you're going to have trouble replicating that performance yourself. Does depend on your use case though.
I think that it will stay in waitlist mode for a while longer as OpenAI are still reviewing implementations manually before the API can be used in production.
Other response saying GPT-3 won't allow access any more is wrong, it will be accessible via the API as it was before (and as it says in the blog post).
On the pricing, only API access for the most powerful engine will cost $100/month for 2M tokens. It will be 75x cheaper for the weakest engine. I couldn't tell you how big the difference in performance is between them.

Thank you for brief explanation. When I applied through the website, I wrote in brief why I need access and commercial purpose as well. I think I have to wait for some more time. It has been already a month not sure how many more weeks and months I need to wait here.
Research access to GPT-3 hasn't changed AFAICT, but all plans to release GPT-3 API's publicly have put on indefinite hold after the MS agreement.
It's not just research, people building products will still be able to get API access.
Not sure how they are handling the waitlist going forward but the API isn't being closed off to product makers.
What MS agreement is? And why this agreement put the access on hold?

They may end up giving access to it through their azure platform for example.

But we surely weren't expecting OpenAI to just open source it all to have people running the model on whatever servers they might be having in their backyard.

I think Microsoft invest a lot on OpenAi so they can come up with some exclusivity. But still they haven’t mentioned when they will release api access to public.

Don't use GPT -3 !
Use an earlier version, to get a similar result. OR
Train your own GPT model (difficult... but possible route)

It generally depends on your use-case. My experience with building AI - enabled systems, is that you don't really need such large scale models. Probably the earlier versions could work for your use case.
eg. If you are interested in a conversational model, you can check out DialoGPT (from MS)

Yes, the public availability seems to face a delay. (Even though the signup seems to be possible when going from »Login« to »Don't have an account, yet«.)
