How can I make an ebook downloader profitable?

Last year I built a desktop application that can be used to download most ebooks from the internet without hustle in just two steps(search and download).

Anyone with a nice idea on how I can make this profitable? I have an idea of building a mobile app for it.

Below is a link to the desktop app, feedbacks are appreciated

I made a library app a decade ago, I never monetized it because it didn't take off, but it you do decent usage, one way to profit nicely is to fetch paperback books, related merchandising or whatever your user would be interested in buying, link to amazon or other shops with referral.

The royalties on each sale can quickly add up. You just need significant use and get the promoted items experience right.
I think it's more reasonable than charging for an app like this.

Cool, that's nice. So then I guess a website will be nice for this.

No need in fact. Although some referral programs require a domain, you just need to feed your client app with the featured items somewhere and a link will go straight to the marketplace with the ref id to track.
