David Heikka never saw himself as an entrepreneur — until a friend invited him to join a small niche project. That spark eventually led him to create Buildpad, now used by 8,000+ founders worldwide.
His journey wasn’t smooth. After one early success, he and his brother Felix launched a new AI product — only to find no one wanted it. They spent months trying everything: ads, redesigns, new features. Nothing worked. The product failed.
But from that failure came insight: most entrepreneurs struggle not because they can’t build, but because they build the wrong thing. That’s where Buildpad was born — an AI platform that remembers your project and guides you step-by-step through building something people actually want.
Launched in August 2024, their MVP gained 100 users in two weeks through focused daily engagement on X and Reddit. One month later, their Product Hunt launch brought their first paying customers. Today, Buildpad has customers in 40+ countries and generates $5,800/month in revenue.
