How did I go from idea to $500 sales in 1 week

I am not going to lie, I hate using the rev number in the title, but here we are.

I'm Adib, been here for a while and have worked on 10s of products and ideas.
Some went ahead to make good revenue, the same way some failed miserably (I share everything on Twitter https://x.com/adib_zouiten).

But along the way, the most important part of the process that makes or breaks an idea is validation. IDK how some of you guys skip it.

I get it that having a new idea is exciting and everything, but you need to be smart with execution.

Most founders can't pinpoint their "Dream User."

How do you expect to find success when you don't know:

  • Who you are building the tool for
  • What their real problems are
  • OR where they hang out online

This is how theinsightpad.com was born, a project close to my heart with one mission: to help as many founders with validation
And build a community along the way 👀.

How InsightPad came to life (Dog fooding)

I did my research to answer these questions:

  • Is validation a problem worth solving?
  • What are the main issues founders face with validation?
  • How can these issues be solved?
  • Where is my dream client?

Built a landing page to pitch the service, and the rest is history.
All that is left is to put myself out there. I went crazy making blog posts each day and sharing them on every channel I can find my clients in, and going for direct outreach.

1 week and 1 viral hacker news submission later, I have signed my first clients doing $500 in sales with more calls planned.

Moral of the story: Find a sweet spot between working smart and hard.
Don't skip validation but at the same time don't make a 10-page market research document that you will never use because there is no market for your idea.

I will be sharing more stories like this one, so if that's something you care to read, you know where to find me.
