How did I reach 47 beta users with no product? Opinions needed!

Hello everyone! I'm Domenico, and I'm building a new AI product named AI Alfred.

It’s an AI tool that can summarize web articles in short or long paragraphs in seconds.

I started thinking about the new AI product when I sold my last AI Startup focused on Excel. I launched my startup studio - here is the link: https://t.co/Q4O0EChtVr. I decided to build in public the product since I think there are a lot of advantages.

How did I reach these users?
So, one of the most important points for me is to validate the product before building it. The basis of this though was:

  • How can I reach users on target?
  • How can I promote the landing page with no ads?
  • How can I ask for feedback with no product?

I don't know what is the right process, but that's how I did it.

  1. I built a very simple landing page using yep.so -> https://yep.so/p/ai-alfred
  2. I launched the idea on Kernal Ideas
  3. I published a post on Indie Hackers Community and on Medium
  4. Then I promoted the articles on my Twitter account only -> https://twitter.com/DG_9_6
  5. In parallel, I have started building in public on my Twitter account

The effect was huge. I reached 10 beta users during the first 48h, and then I started to reach a lot of new users every day.

One tip: you need to start talking with users before building the product. It can bring you:

  1. You can better understand the needs
  2. You can start building a small community. This represents the basis of your community.

And you? How did you reach the first users? Opinions needed!
