We’re all familiar with the concept of bootstrapping a startup. The thing I’m struggling with is how to bootstrap credibility.
I’m building a landing page for my productized web app development service. I don’t have any testimonials, Trustpilot reviews, clients whose logos I can show off, portfolio of web apps built so far, etc.
What things did you do in the beginning to demonstrate credibility on your landing page?
Take a couple of domains and build some projects and use those on the page. But make sure you don't call them out as customer projects. You can simple show as samples.
Offer to work with any of IHers here for relatively low price to build some testimonials/portfolio.
Do you have fictional or passion projects you can show? Do you have friends, family, co-workers, or places you volunteer at that could use your work? When I was getting started, I built a website for an organization that I was volunteering at. Someone at another org saw the site and asked if I could build one for them too. Word of mouth spread from there. I didn't even have a website at the time. I probably built 10-15 websites before I decided I should really build one for myself. I think the easiest way to build credibility is to start with people who already trust you, do an amazing job for them, and let them tell others. Hope this helps!
