How did you decide on your product's name?

I'm developing a bot protection scoring service and I was thinking about finding something catchy. However, I also wanted the name to convey as clearly as possible what the service is about. After some brainstorming, I came up with BotMeNot - I think it fulfills both criteria.

What about you?

Names are an interesting topic. You can easily waste days and weeks on it. I did once look for it for 2 days, and the last one I just picked in an hour, added "try" and tryfixxo.com was born.

But I also know people who pay good money for short domains w/o even having a clear business case/product market fit.

So I am totally for keeping it simple at the beginning; you can always change it later. Your suggestion is good, keep it and move to other things!

      Thanks for answering!

A bit off-topic but I've checked your website and it seems very nicely done!

      Cheers!

I like it. BotMeNot is a good one. Go with it!

My naming journey, or rather renaming journey, made for some good newsletter content: https://mailchi.mp/81dfe43166f6/whats-in-a-name

I usually come up with something abstract, so to have some space if I choose to pivot a product.

It's a different approach, but I understand. Thanks for sharing!
