How did you get your first 10, 100, 1000 users?
MVP is ready, what's next?
This is a very common question and yet I don't know what works and where to put our effort on.
Plenty of resources exist, but not sure what to follow. I know there cannot be a single answer to this and one right way to get users. There can be insights from real experiences which we cannot find anywhere. To really understand, can you guys share your own experiences and suggestions from what you learnt? About what worked and what was waste of time and money?
I am sure many of you have hundreds of millions of users and could be great for fellow Indiehackers to learn.

I am also in same stage as you. I am reaching out to potential customers before building the product. If I feel the product is solving a major problem I ask them will you use my solution?
Did you get good responses? I tried the same in twitter and reddit and when I talked to them, most of them replied like, sorry no thanks!
When I read more about it, many experts say people react like that when they feel like they are being sold. I think we have to be very careful and also patient.
There's a caveat to this. People don't sometimes know what we mean. They don't know or can't imagine what the product would look like. In that case need to have at least mockups or prototypes etc.
I have been working on Personalli.com and I don't think I would have built it if I had asked people if they want it 🙃

I have stopped selling the product. I just ask them for an interview and hear their pain points and try to make a connection with them. sometimes I try to introduce my product to them while talking to them.
I think that's the best way! I will also try the same.
I'm actually working on something on this right now (collected a bunch of interviews, analyzed them, categorized them, now writing a blog post about the insights...gonna be pretty long though, 14k words).
